The Underachievers feat. Liza Owens – Nightmares and Dreams

The Underachievers, Brooklyn’s philosophical MCs, drop new song “Nightmares and Dreams” featuring Liza Owens today, a new song from their forthcoming album After the Rain (November 9 via Slang Music).

The new album, produced entirely by GRAMMY-winning Brooklyn duo Brasstracks finds The Underachievers exploring melodic soundscapes for the first time. Of the new direction Issa says, “we knew we wanted melody and we wanted more fun lyrics. Easier, digestible lyrics.”

The Underachievers are part of NYC’s Beast Coast collective which counts Joey Bada$$, Pro Era and Flatbush Zombies among its members. Six years since exploding on YouTube with “Herb Shuttles” and “Gold Soul Theory,” The Underachievers’ music videos collectively have over 100 million YouTube views and their songs have been streamed on Spotify over 115 million times. Pitchfork praised their “art-damaged mysticism and pyrotechnic wordplay” and Stereogum says they possess a “forward energy that always makes their revivalism feel fresh and tangible.”

The Underachievers will perform at Heavyfest in Worcester, MA on November 10. More tour dates to be announced soon.
